Dublin club Ballyboden St Enda's have announced that one of their adult players has tested positive for Covid-19.

The south Dublin club are one of the largest in the country, numbering 3,000 members and fielding 170 teams across all age groups in both football and hurling.

They are the reigning Dublin and Leinster senior football champions.

In a statement on their website, the club said that the player is well, that he and his family are isolating, and that the HSE have been notified and are undertaking contact tracing.

The statement added that "unless individuals are specifically notified otherwise by the HSE, contact in the context of GAA activity is considered to be casual contact and that all training and games may continue in line with Covid protection processes and policies."

Earlier on Thursday, 2010 All-Ireland club football champions St Gall's suspended all activity after one of their senior footballers returned a positive test for Covid-19.

The Belfast club said in a statement on Facebook: "Folks, we have just learned that a senior footballer has unfortunately tested positive with Covid-19. We wish him a speedy recovery in the days ahead.

"As we continue to liaise with the PHA and GAA, and await further guidance, we have made the decision to suspend all activity for both our minor and senior panels; male and female.

"We hope to release an updated statement within the next 24 hours. Go raibh maith agat."
