Ciarain and Diarmuid Murtagh are poised to return to the Roscommon panel ahead of the resumption of the Allianz League in October.

The brothers informed manager Anthony Cunningham of their decision to withdraw from the inter-county scene at the start of the year, but the rethink means the St Faithleach's clubmen will be available for the county's remaining Division 2 clashes against Armagh and Cavan.

The Rossies currently occupy second spot in the division, trailing only the Orchard County on points difference.

"It's good to have Diarmuid and Ciarain back," Cunningham told the Roscommon Herald.

"Like the rest of the players on the panel, especially those returning from injury, it’s essential that they go well when the club action starts."

Diarmuid Murtagh bagged a goal in last summer's Connacht SFC final victory over Galway, while Ciarain missed last season after stepping away from the inter-county game.
