It will be remembered as one of the greatest Munster finals of all time as Waterford edged Cork to secure the title at Semple Stadium.

In a highly charged affair, Déise hero, John Mullane was sent off in the 38th minute, however, his side held on to secure the narrowest of victories, beating the Rebels 3-16 to 1-21.

After the game, Mullane spoke to RTE Sport's Tony O'Donoghue in what turned out to be an iconic interview at a time when Waterford were one of the best side's in the country.
