Kilkenny have been rocked by the news that Young Hurler of the Year Adrian Mullen is set to play no further part in the 2020 season.

The Ballyhale Shamrocks forward was stretchered off in Sunday's Allianz League draw with Clare, with results revealing that he tore his cruciate knee ligament.

He's set to face around nine months in rehab and recovery, with October the likely earliest month for his potential return.

It's a blow for Brian Cody, whose Kilkenny side reached both the All-Ireland and Leinster finals last summer, without taking home any silverware.

Mullen impressed in their run to the decider, particularly in the last four victory against favourites Limerick where he contributed four points from play.
