Leitrim 0-02 Galway 1-12

Galway eased into the Connacht U20 Football Championship decider with a comfortable win over Leitrim in Elphin this afternoon.

The victors spread their scoring haul around nicely with no fewer than 10 players contributing to the 1-12 total.

Salthill/Knocknacarra's Cathal Sweeney topped the charts with 0-03 along with Matthew Cooley who hammered home the only goal as Galway stretched away to a one-sided victory.

The scoreline read 0-04 to 0-01 at half-time, with Oisin McLoughlin notching Leitrim's only score from a free. Tom Prior added a second score from play early in the second half but that was it for the underdogs.

Cooley's goal on 47 minutes made it 1-09 to 0-02 but the game was in reality over at that point. Points from Ryan Monahan, Paul Kelly and Eoin Mannion put a further gloss on the scoreboard.

Donal O'Fatharta's side now progress to meet Roscommon in the U20 Connacht final.
