Darcy was introduced at the break and nabbed a point almost immediately before goaling 10 minutes into the second period, converting a rebound after Furlong's shot was saved.
Waterford hung in there with Jason Curry efficient from frees but O'Brien would seal the result for the home side after being set up by the lively Darcy.
In Rathkeale, Limerick survived a tight battle with Michael Maher's London side, triumphing by a single point in the finish.
After trailing 0-03 to 0-04 at half-time, the Londoners shot into the lead in the second half with three consecutive points.
In such a low-scoring game, two points was a reasonable lead but the hosts reeled them in, Limerick goalkeeper Brian O'Sullivan nailing two frees from distance.
Jamie Lee, Danny Neville and Seamus O'Carroll helped Limerick squeeze over the line.
