The Dublin hurlers eased to a 14-point win over Laois in Parnell Park to set up a Walsh Cup semi-final date with Galway.

Mattie Kenny's men maintained their winning start to the new campaign with the foundation for victory laid with an impressive start.

The home side enjoyed a 0-10 to 0-04 after 20 minutes with Eamonn Dillon, Cian Boland, Fergal Whitely all keeping the umpires busy.

The interval advantage remained at six points, 0-13 to 0-07.

Chris Crummey was among the Dublin second-half substitutes to raise white flags, and while Aaron Dunphy, James Ryan and Ross King took the fight to the hosts, Laois were second-best throughout with Tom Connolly in particular catching the eye for the men from the capital.

John Hetheron plundered the only goal on the hour that helped steer Dublin to a comprehensive win and seal a semi-final date against Galway this Sunday.
