Dessie Farrell has been confirmed as the new manager of the Dublin senior football team.
The 1995 All-Ireland winner replaces Jim Gavin, who resigned last month after leading the Dubs to a historic five All-Ireland titles in a row earlier this year.
The appointment marks Farrell's first first foray into inter-county management at senior level, having previously brought the Metropolitans to All-Ireland success at minor (2012) and under-21 level (2014 and 2017).
This year he managed his club Na Fianna to the quarter-finals of the Dublin senior football championship, where they lost to eventual winners Ballyboden St Enda's.
Farrell's backroom team will be announced in due course, the Dublin county board said in a statement released this evening.
Farrell's first game in charge will be an O'Byrne Cup semi-final on 11 January, after Dublin received a bye into the semi-finals.
