Martin Comerford has been ratified as a selector for the Kilkenny senior hurling team for next year.

Comerford won six All-Irelands under Brian Cody, retiring from inter-county action back in 2011.

He joins DJ Carey and James McGarry on the selection panel.

Carey's inclusion was confirmed last month. He had managed Kilkenny's under-20 hurling team for the past two seasons, as well as the county's minor footballers this year.

Derek Lyng, who served as selector with the seniors this year, will take the under-20s next season.

Cody is preparing to manage the Cats for an incredible 22nd season.
