Ireland 0-04 Scotland 5-11
Scotland made it five wins on the trot as they inflicted a heavy defeat on Ireland in Saturday afternoon's Hurling Shinty International at the GAA Games Development Centre in Abbotstown.
In a game played in miserable conditions throughout, Ireland got off to a reasonable start, with Paul Divilly (Kildare) and Danny Cullen (Donegal) notching the first two points of the game.
However, the Scots were soon ahead through scores from David Cameron and a Kevin Bartlett clipped over free (a free converted from the ground is worth two points).
The decisive blows were struck in the second quarter with Craig Morrison lashing home the opening goal on 31 minutes with Andrew McCuish finding the net moments later.
Offaly's Cillian Kiely mustered a pointed '65 in response but Ireland trailed 2-03 to 0-03 at half-time.
When Morrison rattled home his second goal within 30 seconds of the restart, the result was more or less settled.
From there, the Scots cantered home and added two more goals through Roddy MacDonald and Kevin Bartlett.
Finlay MacRae chipped in with a few two-pointer trees and the visitors wound up with a healthy score of 5-11.
Ireland could only muster one point in the second half, through a Ryan Mullaney free.
That's five series wins in a row for Scotland (it's moved to one game since 2016) and Ireland are without a victory in the annual contest since they themselves completed six-in-a-row in 2014.
Ireland dispatched the Scots 7-12 to 4-02 in the U21 game beforehand.
