Clonguish Gaels 1-19 Longford Slashers 0-10

Clonguish Gaels claimed their fifth Longford SHC title and first since 2012 with a comprehensive victory over Longford Slashers at Glennon Brothers Pearse Park.

Clonguish had lost four of the last six finals but were 0-10 to 0-05 ahead at half-time and increased their lead, Joe O'Brien (0-12, eight from play) to the fore in the scoring charts.

Former Longford football stalwart Paul Barden came on at half-time and put the icing on the cake with a late goal.
