Drama and yet more drama as Thursday's Antrim football semi-final replay ended when a free-kicks shootout was halted with the sides still level and so Lámh Dhearg and Casements Portglenone must do it again.
Played under lights at The Dub, both teams served up a thrilling contest and after extra time the sides were deadlocked at 0-15 to 1-12. Portglenone's Niall McKeever got the game's only goal.
And so to the shootout that many had thought would finally decide Cargin's opponents in the final. With the score standing at 10-10 in sudden death, Lámh Dhearg forward and former county star Paddy Cunningham was about to attempt to put his side back in front.
Yet, his momentum was stopped as Antrim chairman Ciaran McCavana ran onto the pitch and told him that that would be it for tonight.
After consulting with both managers, McCavana made the decision to call a further replay.
Explaining his decision, he told the Antrim GAA website: "I'm glad I've done it. It might not please everyone, but I have to have the moral courage to look after the players.
"We have amateur players who are giving their all, they're training for nine months and they don't deserve to lose the county semi-final and the chance to play in the final that way."
Of course, the question arises as to whether it McCavana's was correct to bring an end to proceedings in Belfast.
According to the GAA rulebook, games that finish level after normal playing time and extra time should then proceed to a 'penalty competition'. This criteria was approved in January of this year as part of the 'Winner on the Day' Regulations.
That said, a GAA spokesperson told RTÉ Sport that McCavana was within his rights to make the call he did when saying that "they organise the games under the bye laws of Antrim GAA".
All proceeds from the third replay will be split equally between deterMND and Paul McKeever's Cancer Focus and Friends of Cancer Centre.
