Paul Taylor will continue as Sligo manager for 2020 after receiving unanimous support to stay in the role from the county board.

It was a disappointing year for Sligo as they lost all of their FBD League, Allianz League, Connacht Championship and qualifier matches as they were relegated to Division 4.

The Yeats County spent the League campaign away from their usual home in Markievicz Park due to pitch renovations and were based in Connolly Park.

Taylor's side lost 3-11 to 0-07 to Galway in a Connacht semi-final in Markievicz with the scoreline somewhat harsh on Sligo.

However, the qualifiers proved another blow as Offaly powered to victory, 3-17 to 0-15 in Tullamore as the season came to an end.

In total it was 10 defeats out of 10 in the year for Sligo.

A statement from the county said that Taylor "has been unanimously ratified by the county committee to manage the Sligo senior football team for the 2020 season".

It is likely Taylor will make new additions to the backroom team for next season.
