Mark Fanning - 6
Started to go long in the second half with his puck-outs when Wexford needed to keep their hands on the ball. Made one fine first-half save.
Damien Reck - 7
A late inclusion in the team ahead of Shane Reck in the corner and spent most of his time on John McGrath before the red card.
Liam Ryan - 8
Inspirational at times the way he caught high ball and drove out the field, even scoring a point from play from full-back.
Simon Donohue - 6
Saw off Tipp's Niall O’Meara 55 minutes in so he should be reasonably pleased with his afternoon’s work in defence.
Paudie Foley - 8
Was good in open play, scored a point, though he wasn’t the only player to lose his way in the closing quarter as Wexford struggled for direction.
Matthew O’Hanlon - 7
The Wexford joint-captain was moved to corner-back to mark Jason Forde, so wasn’t able to offer his usual urgency going forward as often.
Shaun Murphy - 9
He was a huge loss when he went off injured. Marked John O’Dwyer brilliantly and managed to keep Seamus Callanan on the back-foot when Tipp sent him his way.
Kevin Foley - 7
Played spare man in defence for the Yellow Bellies and scored a point. Astute in his positioning and caused the Tipp attack plenty of problems.
Diarmuid O’Keeffe - 7
Any midfielder would be happy with two points from play. Had a great goal chance in the first half, but couldn’t rise the ball.
Liam Óg McGovern - 6
Spent most of his time in the middle despite being named at wing-forward. Scored a point in the first half.
Conor McDonald - 8
Wasn’t a visible presence for much of the game, but he can point to his 2-01 total from the half-forward line as a job well done.
Jack O’Connor - 6
Got a second-half point, though with a yellow card earned before the break he was taken out of a flagging forward division ahead of the hour mark.
Paul Morris - 8
Got a point in either half, the score after the break was particularly impressive, and he gave Cathal Barrett a lot of thinking to do.
Lee Chin - 8
Took his goal really well and nailed almost all of his dead-balls, dropping one free short. A player the crowd love to love.
Rory O’Connor - 8
Three points from play and he was a massive loss to his team when he went off injured for the last 14 minutes (including stoppage time).
Subs:
Aidan Nolan (for Murphy 51 mins) - 7
Was never going to fill the hole left behind by Shaun Murphy, but still got involved in the build-up to a goal.
Joe O’Connor (for Reck 55 mins) - 6
The Wexford defence was already starting to fall back when he came on.
David Dunne (for Jack O’Connor 57 mins) - 6
Came on in this contest around the middle of the field and saw 20 minutes of action all told.
Cathal Dunbar (for Rory O’Connor 63 mins) - 6
A tough ask to take over from O’Connor so late in a high-intensity game, but did his best.
