Donegal must plan without Eoghan Bán Gallagher for Sunday's eagerly anticipated Super 8s clash with Kerry, as the star defender has broken his ankle.

The BBC are reporting that the Killybegs native will miss the rest of the season after sustaining the injury in training.

Bán Gallagher has featured regularly this year in a Donegal side that has claimed league and Ulster championship honours.

The 23-year-old, who was Donegal Player of the Year in 2018, was on the pitch last Sunday as the county opened their Super 8s campaign with a victory at home against Meath.

Paddy McGrath may also miss the Kingdom game at Croke Park, according to Highland Radio. The Ardara man was a late withdrawal ahead of the Meath clash after suffering a knock in the warm up.
