Paul Brady rolled back the years when he easily defeated rising Galway star Martin Mulkerrins in the Simple Green/USHA Four-Wall (40X20) National Championships Senior Singles final in California at the weekend.
Brady, who holds an incredible five consecutive World Men's Open Senior Singles titles, was well in control throughout both games and had too much firepower for his younger opponent.
He produced his full range of pinpoint kill shots and streamlined passing shots, allied to his powerful serve.

Having taken the first game, on a decisive scoreline of 21-11, the 39-year-old Breffni maestro then went on to take the second game on an emphatic scoreline of 21-7 to clinch a record-equaling 11th Men's Open Senior Singles crown overall.
Brady, who is considered to be the greatest exponent of the sport in the modern era, now shares the record number of Men's Open Senior Singles titles of these championships with legendary California-based, Mexican player, Naty Alvarado Snr.
Meanwhile, in an all-Irish Women's Open Senior Singles final, at the same venue, Cork's Catriona Casey defeated young Galway star Ciana Ni Churraoin in a pulsating encounter, over three games.
Having lost the first game, on an emphatic scoreline of 4-21, Casey then turned the table in the next, 21-8, before proceeding to clinch the third game, tiebreaker, on a dominant scoreline of 11-0, to secure a deserved victory.
