Ashling Thompson is no longer part of the Cork camogie panel, manager Paudie Murray has confirmed.

Thompson played regularly throughout the league but exited in April as the Munster Championship was beckoning.

The All-Ireland Championship begins for the Rebels this weekend against Clare in Sixmilebridge.

Murray told the Irish Examiner: "Ashling is not with us at the moment. We would hope that she would be back playing, but the likelihood is that she will not be with us this year."

Thompson has pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman at a nightclub in Cork city last year.

She will be sentenced on Tuesday.
