Galway Camogie captain Sarah Dervan says that they will enjoy their League win but the focus will very quickly switch to their championship game against Kilkenny.
Cathal Murray’s side survived a Kilkenny comeback to win the Littlewoods Ireland Camogie League Division 1 final in Croke Park on score-line of 0-16 to 2-08 ending the Cats quest for a fourth consecutive title.
"Ah look it will give us a bit of a lift," Dervan told RTÉ Sport.
"We had nothing to lose here, Kilkenny had won the last three so we threw everything at them, at the end of the day it’s the league and the championship is our focus."
Galway had a 0-10 to 0-4 lead at the break but in the second-half Kilkenny roared back into it with goals from Michelle Quilty and Anne Dalton bringing them to within a point of Galway with 13 minutes of normal time remaining.
"The difference between this and the All-Ireland semi-final is we reacted well, we got the next score after that.
"We didn’t go back into our shell, we came out of it after that, the confidence came up then and we got a couple of scores, which tied us over."
