On Sunday next Mayo footballers will again stride out onto the Croke Park sod for a national final.
This time it's an Allianz League Division 1 decider, with the Green and Red looking to bring home the title for the first time since 2001.
Getting this far obviously means credit in the bank for James Horan in the early days of his second coming as Mayo boss.
So what has Horan 2.0 been like so far?
Chris Barrett, who was there during Horan's first tenure, still sees a driven a determined coach.
He told RTÉ Sport: "I don't think he has changed a whole lot. He may be a little crankier, but he's still the same James.
"That belief in how he wants the game to be played is still there.
"He has huge confidence in himself and he transfers that to the players. There's a huge excitement around the place and collectively we are trying to get our confidence levels up to a place where we want them to be.
"Our progression in the league has shown that we are on the right track.
"Competitiveness in the squad is at an all-time high and that's the way James wants it.
"A lot of that has to do with the younger players that James has brought through who are now putting up their hands.
"Back in the day the challenge was to get on the 15, now it's a bonus to be on the match-day squad of 26."
And while Barrett is delighted to be part of another big day at Croker, he sees Sunday's date with the Kingdom (4pm) is just another test in having the side primed for championship.
"For us to show our stuff on the biggest stage is important ahead of the summer, added the former All Star defender.
"We're really looking forward to the occasion. Running out in Croke Park at any time of the year is a huge honour. I'm sure there will be a huge crowd, with the other finals also on.
"I know our supporters will travel in their numbers.
"It's an extra game for us to work on various things and also an extra game for individual players to put up their hands, whether it's myself or one of the younger guys to say, 'I want to be in the mix here come championship time.'
"The league final, well it is what it is.
"Sunday's game is a chance for us to put things right from earlier in the league.
"We had a bit of a blip in the middle after winning our first three games.
"In the Dublin game, we just didn't turn up. We were very flat, we weren't the team we know we are and just stood off Dublin.
"Against Monaghan we played in fits and starts. We got some outstanding scores in both halves, but on the negative side we conceded 1-18 and gave away a lot of frees."
