Offaly forward Nigel Dunne has said he left the Faithful football panel because he felt "isolated and unwelcome".
Dunne opted out of John Maughan's squad for 2019 last week and has opened up on his reasons for doing so.
He had started their Allianz Football League Division 3 campaign, helping the county to victory over Carlow, their only win to date in the spring campaign.
Offaly were beaten 2-12 to 0-10 by Down at Páirc Esler on Saturday evening and are second from bottom in the table.
In a statement posted to Twitter, Dunne said: "The manager was aware of personal issues going on in my life.
"The text I sent saying I was leaving the panel was a result of weeks of an uncomfortable environment for me personally. I felt isolated and unwelcome in the set-up.
"I appreciate my reputation goes before me but this is a different scenario. Now that is that, it's best for all involved. Best of luck to the players and management for the remainder of this year."
