Fizgibbon Cup: DCU, UCC, Mary I and NUIG into semis

The line-up for next week's Fitzgibbon Cup semi-finals has been confirmed following today's quarter-finals.

Sean Morrissey and Donal Burke scored the goals as last year's runners-up DCU beat TU Dublin (DIT) 2-19 to 0-12.

They will face UCC, who overpowered IT Carlow on a 3-19 to 1-11 scoreline.

Tipperary's Jake Morris (2) and Cork senior star Shane Kingston hit the net for the Cork college.

2016-17 winners Mary I are closing in on another final.

Gary Cooney and Luke Meade raised the green flags and All-Ireland winner Aaron Gillane scored 0-09 as the Limerick college eased past Cork IT 2-20 to 0-12.

Standing in their way will be NUI Galway, who surprised Limerick IT 1-15 to 2-10 in the game of the day.

NUIG led 0-10 to 1-03 at the interval, Peter Casey's goal keeping LIT in touch. Robert Byrnes and Conor Sheedy both hit the net after half-time and in injury-time, Brian Concannon nudged the Galway college in front.

LIT had a chance to clinch it with a penalty but Diarmuid Byrnes drove his effort wide.
