Sharpshooter Killeen is December Player of the Month

Clontarf and Dublin forward Siobhán Killeen has been named The Croke Park/LGFA Player of the Month for December.

Killeen (25), was magnificent in the All-Ireland Intermediate Club Final at Parnell Park on 8 December, scoring 5-4 in a remarkable individual display against Emmet Óg of Monaghan.

Clontarf enjoyed victory by 8-14 to 2-5 to land national silverware, hot on the heels of their Dublin and Leinster successes.

The club's All-Ireland win capped a memorable year for Killeen, a former Republic of Ireland Women’s soccer International who has now committed fully to Ladies Football.

Killeen made the decision to focus exclusively on football early in 2018 and made Lidl National League appearances for Dublin against Kerry, in the group stages, and Galway in the Division 1 semi-final.

Killeen ended the inter-county season as a TG4 All-Ireland Senior championship winner with Dublin, as she was a member of Mick Bohan’s squad for the Final victory over Cork at Croke Park, in front of a record 50,141 attendance.

Killeen will now switch her attentions to the 2019 campaign, when her goal is to claim a place in Bohan’s starting line-up, while Clontarf have Senior Club Championship football to prepare for.
