Kerry man Conor Cox has completed a transfer to play for the Roscommon footballers in 2019.

Cox was a star of the Kingdom side who claimed the All-Ireland JFC title in 2017. He produced a superb performance in the decider that year, landing 1-05 from play in a 2-19 to 1-14 defeat of Meath.

That was Kerry's third junior crown in a row, and Cox was widely tipped to break through to the seniors.

However, the former Listowel Emmets player - whose father is from Roscommon - will throw his weight in with the Rossies for 2019, with their county board confirming to RTÉ this morning that his transfer is complete.

Cox will now play his club football with Eire Óg.

In November, Roscommon appointed Anthony Cunningham as their new manager after Kevin McStay stepped away from the post at the end of the summer.
