Statements from Ballyvary Hurling club and Caiseal Gaels have called on the Mayo county board to reverse its decision to exclude both from the funding made available to each county from JP McManus.
On Monday last, the Limerick businessman donated €100,000 to every county board in Ireland, an amount that would be divided equally among the local clubs.

However, Friday evening's statement from Ballyvary outlined their disappointment that they would not be in receipt of any funding. The called on the Mayo board to honour the spirit of the donation.
Subsequently, Caiseal Gaels, another hurling club, echoed Ballyvary's call for the powers that be to reconsider their decision.
