Carnacon are expected to formally appeal against the sanction handed down by the Connacht Council of the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, RTÉ Sport understands.
The Mayo county board had sought to have the club, the current All-Ireland champions, expelled from their championship after eight players left the county panel citing alleged player welfare issues.
That sanction was successfully appealed but on Tuesday night the club was fined €500 and the eight players banned for four weeks.
An appeal is expected to be formally lodged today.
