Louth County Board have taken a major step towards delivering a new county ground after unanimously endorsing the purchase of a site in Dundalk.
Plans to redevelop the Gaelic Grounds in Drogheda were shelved back in March and the Wee County instead focused on finding a suitable site for the development of a new ground.
They have identified that location - which is close to the Dundalk Institute of Technology campus - and are now ready to drive forward.
"Louth GAA tonight unanimously endorsed the purchase of a new site in Dundalk for our new county grounds," a statement released on social media read.
"The new site will be adjacent to the old Heinz factory on the Inner Relief Road."
