Monaghan midfielder Niall Kearns said that progressing to a first All-Ireland SFC semi-final in 30 years is an 'indescribable' feeling following their emphatic win over Galway in Salthill.
Malachy O'Rourke's side needed at least a draw to ensure their safe passage to the last four, and an eight-point win over the Tribesmen not only puts them through but also leaves them as table-toppers in Group 1.
"It was just unbelievable, the crowd that travelled [and] everything with it. The boys really came out and showed what we can do," Kearns told RTÉ Sport after the win.
"Hopefully get back to the training ground and work back on it again. When everyone pulls together, that's what we can do. So just regroup again, get over this here and go onto the next game, delighted to get the win."
Monaghan could have claimed a spot in the All-Ireland semi-finals in their previous Super 8s clash with Kerry, but a last-minute goal from David Clifford ensured the game would end in a draw.
The Farney men's future in the championship hinged on getting a result against Galway, and they achieved that in style.
They will play either Donegal or Tyrone at Croke Park on Sunday, 5 August in what will be their first All-Ireland semi-final since 1988.
"It was very disheartening to get that kill at the end but the boys were good, they came back onto it and we came back down and did another job.
"It's just unbelievable, it's indescribable how good it is, it's such a good feeling. Supporters have travelled everywhere, it's just good to see them all out here now. We'll get back now and regroup."
