Dublin must plan without John Small for Saturday's Super 8s clash with Donegal at Croke Park after the red card he received in the Leinster final was upheld by the Central Hearings Committee (CHC) on Wednesday evening.
The Ballymun Kickhams player was dismissed for striking Laois' Evan O'Carroll in the decider on 24 June.
The Central Competitions Control Committee took disciplinary action against the player - a one-match suspension.

After requesting a hearing with the CHC, the suspension was upheld and so Small will not be available for the Jones' Road with the Ulster champions.
He does, however, have the option of appealing the decision of the CHC to the Central Appeals Committee. (CAC).
