Cork are having their third round-robin outing after beating Clare and drawing with Tipperary.
Limerick are having just their second outing, having beaten Tipperary by six points in the first round.
"Cork played Tipperary last weekend in one of the best and strangest Championship matches I’ve seen in many years," hurling analyst Michael Duignan told RTÉ Sport.
"The hurling Cork played in the first half was fantastic. In the second half, Tipperary came back into it but Cork still played well. They didn’t disappear.
"Limerick were very impressive against Tipperary the first day and I think maybe the scheduling will come into this.
"Limerick had a rest last weekend, which could be a big thing. That match against Tipperary has surely taken a good bit out of Cork and on that basis, I fancy Limerick.
"They’re very physical across the half-back line and might stop that Cork running game.
"You’d normally go for the home teams this year but I think Limerick will go to Cork and win that."
This will be the 65th championship meeting between the counties but the first in the championship in four years, with Cork having won the last meeting in the 2014 Munster final.
Cork lead 45-15 while there were four draws in the previous 64 games.
Limerick have failed to score a goal in their last four championship games against Cork.

Anthony Nash (Cork)
The netminder's performance last week earned a point for the Rebels and his laser-guided puckouts set up numerous Cork attacks.
In an era when goalkeepers have never been more influential on the field, Nash's involvement is crucial to Cork's fortunes.
Aaron Gillane (Limerick)

The Treaty County's win over was a real team effort with nine men on the scoresheet.
But Aaron Gillane top-scored with eight points and if the Patrickswell man can produce another similar return then it will go a long way to a Limerick victory.
