Dr Hyde Park remains in contention to host the final

Roscommon GAA have said they held a "very constructive meeting" in relation to Dr Hyde Park hosting this year's Connacht Football final.

The Rossies are due to host the final this year on the rota basis if Galway beat Sligo after they saw off Leitrim in the first semi-final.

There are concerns over ticket scanning and exiting the venue, which has put the venue for the final in doubt.

A Roscommon GAA statement read: "Everyone involved in Roscommon was absolutely delighted last Saturday evening when we qualified for our third Connacht final in-a-row by defeating Leitrim.

"Roscommon GAA are looking forward to taking on Galway or Sligo on Sunday 17 June in the final.

"Roscommon GAA fully accept the venue of the Connacht final will be decided by the Connacht CCC and this will be done when the winner of the Galway v Sligo game is known."

Roscommon County Secretary Brian Carroll added: "I held a very constructive meeting with Connacht GAA Secretary John Prenty this week about the suitability of Dr Hyde Park for the hosting of Connacht Championship games in the future and also a potential Connacht final and another meeting is planned for this weekend."
