Mayo's Tom Parsons has vowed to come back from the serious knee injury he suffered during his side's Connacht SFC quarter-final defeat to Galway at MacHale Park.

The midfielder was stretchered off in the second-half, following a battle for possession with Galway defender Eoghan Kerin.

He tweeted on Tuesday to thank fans for their support.

"Teammates, Opponents, Supporters, and all you GAA people," said Parsons.

"THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart for all the Messages of support and Best Wishes at a rough time.

"My Comeback will be Stronger than my Setback."

After the game Mayo boss Stephen Rochford revealed that Parsons had dislocated his knee, but added that he was unsure as to the extent of the injury.
