Ulster 3-17 Munster 1-15
A second-quarter scoring burst that included goals from Aidan Breen and Enda Lynn secured victory for Ulster and an Interprovincial football final place alongside Connacht.
Pete McGrath's side burst into life with an unanswered 2-07 of scoring from the 18th minute until half-time, opening up a big lead that they held onto despite a spirited second-half display from Munster.
Tyrone's Peter Harte top-scored with 1-08 overall and added Ulster's third goal from the penalty spot in the 59th minute.
Mark Bradley was fouled for that penalty after being set free by Armagh's Stefan Campbell who had an excellent game and contributed five points, all from play.
Fermanagh's Tomas Corrigan impressed too as the northerners progressed to next weekend's final where they will face a Connacht side buoyed by their own win over Leinster.
Ulster, who lead the roll of honour with 31 titles, the most recent of which came in 2013, struggled initially.
They trailed 0-05 to 0-02 after 18 minutes with three of Munster's scores coming from the boot of Waterford's Paul Whyte, a late addition to the southerners' lineup.
Remarkably, Munster only added another point before the break, another from free-taker Whyte.
In the meantime, Ulster effectively sewed up the contest with that whopping 2-07 blitz.
Fermanagh's Breen got the siege underway with a 19th minute goal when he accepted a pass from Connor McAliskey and poked low beyond 'keeper Evan Comerford's right side.
Harte went to work then with a string of points from placed balls as Munster's defence got ragged and coughed up a series of frees.
Campbell weighed in with back-to-back points from the left wing also, though the score of the game came from Lynn when he fired Ulster's second goal.
It arrived in first-half injury-time and was a beauty as he raced onto McAliskey's pop pass and lofted a deft, left footed shot over a defender and the 'keeper to the top left corner.
Ulster led 2-09 to 0-06 at half-time and Munster were also without Kerry man and Aidan O'Mahony for the second-half after a black card dismissal after 27 minutes.
Munster fought back after the break and David Tubridy scored three points from play after his introduction while fellow Clare man Jamie Malone hit an important goal to reduced the gap to just three points at one stage.
But Ulster finished strong and scores from Harte, Corrigan and Campbell saw them remain comfortably clear before Harte dispatched that late penalty to gloss the scoreline.
