Roscommon football manager Kevin McStay has appointed former Kerry goalkeeper Declan O'Keefe and former Republic of Ireland underage star David Joyce to his backroom team for 2017.

McStay and joint-manager Fergal O’Donnell made a sensational start to their spell in charge of the Rossies earlier this year, leading the Connacht outfit to a third-place finish in the Allianz Football League prior to an underwhelming championship campaign.

However, McStay will take sole charge of Roscommon going forward after O’Donnell resigned from his position in September.

The Mayo man will look to two-time All-Ireland winner O'Keefe to coach the county’s goalkeepers, while Joyce – who was on the books of Birmingham City a few short season ago – has also been appointed to the Roscommon backroom team.
