Cuala 4-16 v Borris-Kilcotton 0-14
Con O'Callaghan gave Dublin hurling supporters a reminder of what they're missing with a remarkable 4-3 haul to seal Cuala's AIB Leinster club SHC semi-final place.
The Dublin senior football panelist is a former dual player at underage level and competed in both Leinster minor finals in 2014, captaining the footballers.
He clearly hasn't lost any of his silken hurling skills with 3-3 alone in the first-half to put the Dalkey outfit on the road to the last four.
O'Callaghan only featured as a sub in the county final against Kilmacud Crokes and was included as a late addition to the team here in place of Nicky Kenny.
But he wasted no time getting on the goal trail with net blasts after eight, 10 and 30 minutes to all but kill off the Laois representatives by half-time.
O'Callaghan did feature in the Championship for back to back winners Dublin this year though was used sparingly by Jim Gavin and senior hurling boss Ger Cunningham would surely love to have him for 2017.
Borris-Kilcotton, only amalgamated in 2011 and first time county champions, trailed by 14 points after that early O'Callaghan assault though refused to throw in the towel.
They outscored Cuala 0-04 to 0-02 in the 10 minutes after half-time but were suckered by O'Callaghan's fourth goal.
He actually fumbled the ball twice but still regained possession to race clear and blast home from the left of goals after 41 minutes.
County man and free-taker David Treacy hit six points while Cian Waldron added four from play though the duo, along with O'Callaghan, were withdrawn as boss Mattie Kenny opted to assess his panel members.
But it was O'Callaghan's day and the three different Borris/Kilcotton players that marked him during his 55 minutes on the field will have nightmares about the occasion.
PJ Scully hit six points for the visitors while Patrick Whelan boomed over two long range beauties and added a goal in second-half injury-time to put some gloss on the scoreline.
But they were outfought and out-thought over the hour and were all but beaten when they trailed 3-11 to 0-06 at half-time, ensuring Cuala will progress to face St Mullins of Carlow on November 20.
