Ballyhaunis 2-13 Tooreen 1-13

Keith Higgins was again the hero for Ballyhaunis as they produced a late surge to overcome Tooreen in the Mayo SHC final replay.

A series of late points from the dual star had forced the replay last time out and on this occasion it was a goal from Higgins which proved to be the difference between these two fierce rivals.

It was nip and tuck throughout with very little between the sides and at times another draw looked to be a real possibility, but with Higgins freely scoring, there was always the feeling that his side had the slight edge.

And so it proved to be. With just five minutes left on the clock and his side trailing by two points, Higgins stepped forward to find the back of the net and swing the momentum in the favour of Ballyhaunis.

Higgins finished the game with 1-09 as his team went on to claim their third consecutive Mayo club title and their third consecutive final triumph over Tooreen.
