There were joyous scenes in O’Moore Park as Borris-in-Ossory/Kilcotton won the Laois senior hurling title for the first time ever.

Twelve points from PJ Scully were crucial for Borris-Kilcotton as they powered home in the second half to claim an historic win over Rathdowney-Errill in this replay.

Playing against the breeze Borris-Kilcotton got off to a dream start when Neil Foyle cracked home a great goal and they didn't trail for the entire half.

A John Purcell goal kept Rathdowney-Errill in touch but with PJ Scully and Ross King trading scores, Borris-Kilcotton led 1-7 to 1-5 at the break.

A Patrick Purcell goal had the sides level with 15 minutes to play but Borris-Kilcotton refused to panic and they outscored their opponents by 0-8 to 0-3 in the final quarter.
