Fifteen days on from the agonising defeat to Dublin in the All-Ireland SFC final, Mayo's Cillian O'Connor was to the fore for his club Ballintubber, scoring 4-04 as they easily advanced past Garrymore in the Mayo SFC quarter-final.

Ballintubber ran out 6-14 to 1-09 winners, with Jason Gibbons and Alan Plunkett also among the goals. The three-time Mayo champions will now face the current holders Castlbar Mitchels in the semi-final.

Mitchels overcame Ballaghaderreen in their last-eight encounter on a 3-13 to 1-13 scoreline. Cian Costello and Barry Moran got decisive second-half goals for the winners.

The other semi-final sees Breaffy take on Knockmore.
