Sarsfields retained their Kildare senior football crown after a four-point win over Moorefield in Newbridge.

An off-the-ball incident saw Moorefield's Ronan Sweeney see red on 39 minutes - a crucial turning point in this decider. 

Sweeney, who recently was added to Cian O'Neill's management ticket in Kildare, was to the fore in the opening half, kcking five points as Moorefield led at the break 0-08 to 1-04. Ray Cahill goaled from the penalty spot for Sarsfields. 

Alan Smith added a second goal for the winners after Sweeney's dismissal and late points from Ronan Fitzgibbon and Dan Nea sealed the deal for Sars. 

They will now face either St Patrick's of Wicklow or Louth's Sean O'Mahony's in the Leinster club quarter-final on the 13 November.
