Cork footballers have received a boost with the news that Aidan Walsh has opted to commit to Peadar Healy's squad for next season.

Walsh, an All-Ireland football winner with the Rebels in 2010, was part of the hurling set-up in 2015 and 2016. He played on the team that was beaten by Wexford in the All-Ireland qualifiers in July. The 26-year-old then made the switch back to football and lined out for Cork in their qualifier loss to Donegal.

Walsh previously played both codes in 2014 but his efforts now will be on helping Healy's side when competitive action resumes at the start of February.

Cork begin their Allianz League campaign in Division 2.

Alan Cadogan also returned to the footballers for that game with Donegal at the end of July, but he has yet to make a decision on his plans for next year.
