Former Dublin player Jack Sheedy is not surprised that Jim Gavin has named an unchanged side for the All-Ireland final against Mayo, but admits that late changes are usually part of the manager’s game plan.
Like Mayo counterpart Stephen Rochford, Gavin also named the same XV that drew the original game, however, speculation continues that things may change before throw-in, with under-performing forwards Bernard Brogan and Kevin McManamon under pressure.

“I don’t think it’s a huge surprise,” former Longford manager Sheedy told RTÉ Sport.
“I know there was an awful lot of talk over the last two weeks about certain players being under pressure.
“He’s gone with the tried and trusted again for the game that’s in it. He knows what he’s going to get from his lads. There’s a level of trust and faith there.
“Jim has, throughout his tenure, made changes before the throw-in in most games, or certainly in a lot of games.
“He didn’t do it the last day. He possibly, possibly will make a couple of changes but I still fancy him to go with the team that’s named.”
Dublin: S Cluxton; P McMahon, J Cooper, D Byrne; J McCarthy, C O’Sullivan, J Small; B Fenton, M.D. MacAuley; P Flynn, K McManamon, C Kilkenny; D Rock, D Connolly, B Brogan.
