Brendan Guckian was ratified as Leitrim’s new senior football manager on Thursday night at a county board meeting in Carrick-on-Shannon.
Guckian will be assisted by an impressive backroom team, including selectors John O’Mahony and Seamus Quinn, and team trainer Michael Moyles.
O’Mahony famously led Leitrim to a first provincial crown in 67 years back in 1994, with Quinn landing an All Star that year for a series of impressive performances at full-back.
Former Leitrim goalkeeper Thomas Quinn will play an important role in coaching the county’s Dublin-based players.
Shane Ward vacated the Leitrim hotseat earlier this summer after neighbours Sligo inflicted an 11-point defeat on the county in the All-Ireland qualifiers.
