Liam Dunne will re-apply for the position of Wexford senior hurling manager after completing his five-year term with the Model County.

Now Dunne’s term is completed, the Wexford GAA County Board must seek nominations for the job, while they are also looking for a new football manager following David Power’s resignation.

Dunne’s club Oulart the Ballagh have nominated the 1996 All Ireland winner, while it is understood that at least two other people have expressed an interest in the position.

Following a disappointing exit at the hands of Dublin in Leinster this summer, Dunne’s charges re-grouped to register victories over Offaly and Cork before exiting the Championship to Waterford at the quarter-final stage.
