Laois’ participation in the All-Ireland SFC qualifiers is in doubt over the number of substitutes they used in their 1A qualifier win over Armagh at O’Moore Park on Saturday last.
The midlanders made seven replacements, one more than the permitted number of six, when Shane Murphy came on as a black card sub for Brendan Quigley in added time at the end of the game.
Following the draw for round 2A of the qualifiers, Laois face an away date with Clare, but if Mick Lillis’ men are found to have used more than the required number of substitutes, then the Central Competitions Control Committee may decide that it is Armagh who will travel south on 2 July.
