VIDEO: Henry Shefflin and Ger Loughnane on drawn league final between Clare and Waterford

Henry Shefflin and Ger Loughnane assess the drawn Allianz HL Division final between Clare and Waterford and feel both sides are capable of serving up better fare in the replay.

"Looking at the highlights, you would think it was a great game but overall the quality on offer wasn't that good," was Shefflin's summation when speaking on League Sunday.

"It wasn't a pretty game to be honest. Okay, it did get exciting when it opened up a little bit. It just wasn't an expansive game of hurling. We didn't see many goal chances. A lot of players afterwards will proably be saying 'I could have done a lot better'," the Kilkenny legend added.

Ger Loughnane is of the view that both managers wouldn't have wanted another day out next Sunday in advance of the championship clash between the sides on 5 June.

Added to that "are championship matches in Clare the week after next," said Loughnane.

"I suppose for supporters they'll be delighted for another day. Even as a Clareman, it was very hard to get excited in that first half. But as the game went on, it became more and more griping and it built to a climax."
