The Lidl National Football League made history by playing the first GAA game at the new National Sports Campus in Abbotstown as Cork took on Armagh on Sunday last.

The Rebelettes ran out 2-16 to 4-07 winners in the Division 1 encounter to set up a semi-final date with Dublin on Saturday. Kerry will meet Mayo in the second of the semis, which will be played as a double-header in Birr.

Reflecting on the new venue, Cork manager Ephie Fitzgerald said: "It’s top-class, it’s a fantastic complex and it's something we could badly do with in Cork."

Captain Ciara O'Sullivan added: "It's like walking into Croke Park, the pitch was unbelievable and the dressing rooms -very professional and a very high standard."
