Antrim maintained top spot in Division 4 of the Allianz Football League, with wins also for Leitrim and Carlow on Sunday.

A fifth-minute goal from Kevin O’Boyle was the difference as Antrim recorded a hard-earned 1-11 to 0-11 win over London at the Irish TV Grounds in Ruislip.

The visitors were pushed hard by a determined London side, with the teams tied on three occasions, all in the second half, until Antrim pulled away with four of the final five scores to take a three-point win.

London bagged two early points but O’Boyle’s goal handed Antrim a lead they wouldn’t relinquish until the ninth minute of the second half.

Tomas McCann was on song from frees with three points overall, while his brother Michael also put in an excellent shift, returning from injury.

Antrim led by 1-05 to 0-05 after 32 minutes following a Patrick McBride point, but London cut the gap with scores from Cavan’s Lorcan Mulvey and London native Adrian Moyles to ensure a 1-5 to 0-7 interval score-line.

London took this game to Antrim on the restart, but a string of black cards threaten to derail the quality of football on show.

McBride went for Antrim, while Cormac Coyle, Moyles and Adrian Hanlon were dismissed for the hosts - all in a 15-minute spell.

The sides were tied at 0-10 to 1-07 following Hanlon’s dismissal with 11 minutes remaining.

Conor Murray took control with two impressive points from play, and Antrim stayed ahead until the end, with strong pressure on their defence late on, to remain unbeaten.

Leitrim claimed a battling 0-16 to 2-09 win over Louth in Carrick on Shannon. They led by 0-11 to 1-04 at half-time, with Ryan Burns netting a seventh minute goal, following a pass from Jim McEnaney.

However, the visitors struggled until the break, but worked hard to push Leitrim all the way in the second half.

Louth claimed their second goal early on the restart, with Derek Maguire finishing a fine individual effort.

Burns and Kevin McLaughlin worked hard to cut the gap to the minimum, but despite further Louth pressure, Leitrim defended strongly to claim a much required win.

Carlow edged their Leinster rivals Wicklow by 0-17 to 0-14 in Arklow. The visitors trailed by 0-11 to 0-08 after 48 minutes, following a Darren Hayden score, but worked hard to turn around this contest and claim a three-point win.

On Saturday, Wexford struggled against Waterford before delivering a 0-12 to 0-11 win over the hosts at Fraher Field.

Wexford led by 0-06 to 0-03 at half-time with Donal Shanley registering all of Wexford's first-half tally and Waterford kicking 5 wides failing to score from play.

Wexford moved 0-10 to 0-05 ahead after 51 minutes, but Waterford ensured a tense finish with JJ Hutchinson equalising with four minutes left on the clock, but Wexford dug deep to deliver a winner.
