Fermanagh 0-10 Meath 0-06
Fermanagh kicked five unanswered points in the final quarter to beat 14-man Meath in a dogged Allianz FL Division 2 contest at Brewster Park.
Pete McGrath's side, unbeaten at home since June 2014, made the best of difficult playing conditions and Tomas Corrigan nailed four second-half frees, while Barry Mulrone chipped over the late insurance point to give Fermanagh their first league win in Division 2.
Meath only scored one point from play in a poor offensive display.
They also failed to score for 25 minutes either side of the break after Andrew Tormey was sent off in the 23rd minute.
The sides were level three times in the opening 20 minutes, Eoin Donnelly's booming 55metre point after 10 seconds setting the tone for a fully committed Fermanagh display.
Meath replied with Mickey Newman and Sean Tobin frees before Aidan Breen blazed over at the end of a well-constructed Fermanagh move to put them level again 15 minutes in.
Cillian O'Sullivan, fit again after almost two years out through injury, landed a superb sideline kick for the Royals in the 20th minute but that was their last score of the half.
The visitors were rocked by the harsh dismissal of midfielder Andrew Tormey after 23 minutes for a yellow card, followed by a black for blocking the run of a Fermanagh attacker.
The home side upped their level, with Sean Quigley scoring three unanswered points before the interval.
He mixed the good with the bad, scoring a tricky free followed by a '45' but then missed two easier kicks.
Although Fermanagh were to slow to get direct ball into him, Quigley made the best of the scraps he got and won a high ball, turned quickly and pointed to send Pete McGrath's team into the dressing-room 0-05 to 0-03 ahead.
Fermanagh showed little ambition to push more men forward despite their numerical advantage and Meath, with the wind in the second half, scored three points in a row to go 0-06 to 0-05 ahead after 50 minutes.
Donal Lenihn grabbed their score from play in the 43rd minute, ending their long scoring drought with a left-footed point.
Sean Tobin converted a '45' and then hit a free, which proved to be their last score.
Fermanagh carried the ball well and picked off some well-worked scores in the final quarter.
With Quigley struggling with frees, kicking four dead balls wide, Tomas Corrigan took over the duties and nailed 0-4 from frees.
Barry Mulrone secured the insurance point in the 70th minute to give Fermanagh an important league victory.
