Longford GAA club Dromard will appeal a Central Hearings Committee decision to fine them €2,000 for hosting the Jamie Carragher Soccer School summer camp last year.
The CHC ruled that in holding the camp Dromard had broken Rule 5.1, which states: "All property including grounds, clubhouses, halls, dressing-rooms and handball alleys owned or controlled by units of the Association shall be used only for the purpose of, or in connection with, the playing of games controlled by the Association."
Former Liverpool and England defender Carragher attended the camp, which was organised by soccer club UCL Harps, from Gowna in Co Cavan.
A Dromard statement on Twitter said: "Following on from the statement released by the Central Hearings Committee, Dromard GAA have decided to exercise their right to appeal the sanction to the CAC. The club will be making no further comment on this matter."
