The process for the appointment of a new senior football management in Down is continuing and will be completed within the next ten days according to the Down County Board.

Down have been managerless since Jim McCorry stepped down from the role in August of this year, following a disappointing Ulster SFC quarter-final defeat to Derry, before suffering a shock defeat to Wexford in the qualifiers.

The county board have issued a statement to quell speculation on the matter, stating that they won't be commenting on the appointment until the committee have ratified appointments.

The appointment is expected to be made next week.
