Newcastle West 2-10 Drumcollogher Broadford 0-09
For the first time since 1992, Newcastle West are Limerick senior football champions after a 2-10 to 0-09 win over Drumcollogher-Broadford in Kilmallock.
A strong first-half display laid the foundations for the victory, with man of the match Stephen Kelly netting 1-03 as Newcastle West led by 1-08 to 0-04 at the break.
Drumcollogher-Broadford kicked the opening three scores of the second period to narrow the deficit to three points, but a Jamie Lee goal for the victors gave the breathing space to kick for home as they ran out seven-point winners.
Newcastle West will now face Tipperary’s Clonmel Commercials in the Munster club quarter-final on 1 November.
